Surfactant has been a medical radiographer since 1992 and due to this is greatly influenced by the high contrast of the hundreds of x-ray images he views each day.  It influences his artistic radiography as well as his visible light photography. His interest  in shell and object radiography grew after attending a gallery displaying the work of William A. Conklin, who was a pioneer of the process.
